You’ve probably heard of 007 Elements in Sölden, right? The James Bond world of experience is located at over 3,000 metres above sea level on Gaislachkogl mountain. Here, you can learn everything about the service of the secret agent through a cinematic installation, as the filming of the James Bond film “Spectre” took place in Sölden in 2014. The exhibition in the architecturally unique building covers 1,300m² and two floors. Right next to it, the ice Q panoramic restaurant awaits you, putting the icing on the cake of your day out. And how about a martini à la Bond to round off the day? Shaken, not stirred, of course!
Stone Age findings and thrills
Do you know Ötzi’s story? Sure, he’s the iceman who was found on Hauslabjoch in 1991. But do you also know the details of his time? At Ötzi Village in Umhausen, you can follow in Ötzi’s footsteps and learn all kinds of interesting facts about the famous glacier mummy and the Stone Age. If you prefer something more active, Area 47 is the place to be. It’s the largest outdoor adventure park in Austria and awaits you with almost vertical slides, a giant swing with free fall, the highest high ropes course in Austria, blobbing, indoor motocross, and much more. When you think of Ötztal, majestic mountains are sure to spring to mind. Unique water fun also awaits you here, for example, at Aqua Dome Tirol Therme Längenfeld or Freizeit Arena Sölden. Do your lengths in the large swimming pools, go down the slides with your loved ones, and work off your energy on the beach volleyball court.

In October, the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup takes place every year, attracting the stars of Alpine ski racing to the Rettenbach glacier. In summer, the annual Ötztal Cycle Marathon takes place, leading cycling professionals from near and far through two countries, four climate zones, and over four Alpine passes. The Ötztaler Moped Marathon is for two-wheel enthusiasts and takes place every year at the end of June.
